Gearing Up





I’m gearing up for a few shows in the coming weeks.  I’m doing a home show in Blacksburg, VA at the end of the month and another show in Virginia Beach mid November.  I’ve been getting my mind in the fall/winter mode while designing.  Above are some richly colored pearl earrings perfect for the cooler weather.  I love the metallic coppers and gorgeous blues of these designs.

Well, it’s been a busy last few weeks in the Annis household!   We finally decided that it was time to convert one of our spare rooms into an inviting guest room.  It was a great bonding experience for my husband and me – he took me mattress shopping, and I talked him into building a headboard for our new guest bed.

With some simple supplies (wood, trim, crown molding, and paint) from the hardware store a little do-it-yourself labor, here is what we came up with.  Not bad for a weekend project!  I love that the simple elegance and the impact of the rich warm chocolate brown in the room.  My husband loves that the headboard is mounted to the wall.

To top off our weekend redecorating, we spent a lovely week with our dear friends as house guests.  I’m glad we have a welcoming guest room and guests to fill it!
