Today’s Favorite:  City Earrings – Charleston

Miami * Toranto * New York * Charleston

I have to admit, I really like the jewelry I make! My favorite designs change from day to day.  Today, my favorite earrings are these Charleston City Earring.

I recently made several new pairs of my City Earrings.  These are one of my more popular designs, and I love playing with new color combinations.  I especially like the colors in the Charleston earrings.

When naming each pair of City Earrings, I think about the images  that come to mind when I think of a particular city and match those images to the colors of the earring.

When I think of Charleston, I think of the brightly colored row houses along the waterfront.  The bright coral of these earrings reminds me of the hues of paint used for these houses.

Our current Charity of Focus:
Dulce Reugio Childres Home,
Aguascalientes Mexico
A portion of all profits from sales made in April through the end of July will go to support Dulce Refugio, a Christian orphanage in Aguascalientes, Mexico.  The mission of Dulce Refugio (“sweet refuge”) is to elevate each child’s quality of life; to promote well being; and to bring about social, cultural and economic improvement for the individual and community of Aguascalientes.

Dulce Refugio holds a special place in my heart.  This past summer, I traveled with a team of teens and adults to the orphanage to spend time with the children and help with the construction of a new home for the children.   We poured concrete, painted, and did whatever we could to help at the construction site during the day, and spent the afternoons playing, singing, making crafts, and spending quality time with the children.  Check out the photos below from our trip.

Check out this Dulce Refugio website to learn more.

Future Causes:
If you have a charity that holds a special place in your heart, please let me know.  We are searching for charities to feature and support in future months!

I designed these earrings with the inspiration of a photograph taken in our yard.  We don’t get snow in our parts very often, so when it snowed back in January, I took a few minutes to capture the beauty and let it inspire.  Months later, this is the result.  Though inspired by a winter snow, these earrings seem just as perfect for the spring and summer season fast approaching.

These earrings incorporate berry-colored freshwater pearls, swarovski crystals, and sterling silver.  I have suspended silver circles and several layers of chain that work together to give give a lot of character and movement to these earrings.  The earrings dangle 1 3/4 inches from the base of the sterling ear wire.
